Mary Eleanor (Wood) Kieffer

Mary Eleanor (Wood) Kieffer, age 92, was ushered into her Savior’s arms on Sunday, May 29, 2022. She was born in Lawrenceville on January 1, 1930 to Charles and Ruth Wood.

She is proceeded in death by: her parents- Charles and Ruth Wood: three sisters- Myra Lockhart, Evelyn Wepman, and Judy Holt: one brother- Jack Wood: first husband- Ray Barrix: daughter-in-law- Jan Barrix: two sons-in-laws- Robert Dahlke, Scott M. Zalis: grandson- Nicholas Barrix: and stepson- Christopher Kieffer.

She will be lovingly remembered by: her husband- Albert Kieffer, Sr.: fur baby- Hachi: one brother- David Wood: six children- Terry Barrix of Wyoming MI, Debra Dahlke of Lowell MI, Joseph Barrix of Grand Rapids MI, Susan (Matthew) Bach of Pinkstaff, IL, Evelyn Zalis of Lowell, MI, and Jason Barrix of Byron Center, MI: eighteen grandchildren and their spouses: seventeen great-grandchildren: one great-great-grandchild: special cousin- Steve Cunningham: niece Tonja Wepman: and many more nieces and nephews who will deeply miss her. Mary is also survived by her step children; Dwayne, Albert Jr., William, Annette and Lisa Kieffer.

She was long time member of Highway Church of God. She worked for many places including Metro Hospital in Grand Rapids Michigan.

Mary loved to cook for her family and friends, decorate and flip houses with her spouses for many years, plant flowers and trees, and spending time with her family and friends was what she loved most in life.

Services will be at Cunningham-Young Funeral Home on Saturday, June 4th. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. with Funeral at 11 am. Final resting place is May Chapel Cemetery in Lawrenceville, Illinois
