The Lawrenceville City Council met in regular session Thursday evening at City Hall and made a decision in regard to a improvement project to be paid for through state and federal Surface Transportation (Urban) (STU) funds. The council chose a project on Lexington Avenue between 12th and 15th Streets to rebuild sidewalks and curbing in that stretch along with making Americans with Disabilities (ADA) mandated updates. Mayor David Courtney told WAKO News that the projected cost is between $900,000 and $1,000,000 with a majority of that STU money. It is anticipated that the project will be bid in late 2023-24 with an expected start in 2024-25.
