ARCTIC AIR ON THE WAY

national-weather-service

The National Weather Service says that an arctic air front will sweep through the region this weekend bringing the potential of snow Saturday afternoon and evening with minor accumulations possible. This will be followed by the coldest air of the winter season thus far. Wind chills are forecast to plunge to single digits or below zero Saturday night into Sunday morning. The cold weather will linger through mid-week. People traveling in the cold conditions should be prepared by having an emergency kit in their vehicle and by also checking road conditions before leaving. Those outdoors should dress in layers and make sure that hands, ears, and face prone to frostbite are covered. Hypothermia is also a concern in this type of extreme cold.
