Two Sentenced in Lawrence County Circuit Court

   Lawrence County State’s Attorney Michael Strange announced that two people were sentenced in Lawrence County Circuit Court this week. 37 year-old Amanda D. McGuire of Lawrenceville was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a charge of unlawful possession of methamphetamine. That will be followed by one year of mandatory supervised release. McGuir is also required to pay a $500 drug assessment as well as court costs.

  33 year-old Jessica M. McKinney of Decker was re-sentenced to two years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a charge of unlawful possession of methamphetamine.  McKinney had previously been placed on two years of felony probation; but admitted to violating the terms of her probation by providing drug screens that tested positive for methamphetamine. McKinney’s prison sentence will be followed by one year of mandatory supervised release. McKinney is also required to pay fines as well as court costs.
