Lawrence County State’s Attorney Michael Strange announced that a Lawrenceville man was convicted on a charge of domestic battery in Lawrence County Circuit Court this week. 35 year-old Brandon D. Edgin of Lawrenceville had pled not guilty to the charge and the case proceeded to jury trial. The jury of 8 men and 4 women was selected Monday morning. Opening statements were made at 1 pm and the case was handed to the jury by 3:50 pm. After approximately an hour of deliberation, the jury returned to the courtroom with a guilty verdict. Edgin is currently free on bail. He is scheduled to be sentenced on May 8th.
