Noble Brown, age 91, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Willow Manor in Vincennes, Indiana. He was born September 26, 1927 in Russell Township, Illinois, the son of Roy and Elizabeth (Fry) Brown. He married Winifred Shaffer on September 26, 1948 and she preceded him in death on March 19, 2003.

Noble was a heavy equipment operator with IUOE Local 841 of Terre Haute, Indiana. He was a member of the Allison Prairie Church of the Brethren. He was very active with the Lawrence County Historical Society and the Allison Prairie Church of the Brethren Disaster Relief Program. His hobbies included fishing and hunting. He always lent a helping hand to his neighbors and friends. He served his country in the United States Army in WWII.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Rodney Brian Brown; one daughter, Marcia Lewis; two brothers, Roy L. Brown and Bobby Brown; and two grandchildren, Elizabeth Brown and Hope Brown.

Survivors include two sons, Stanley N. Brown and wife, Lena Kay, of Lawrenceville, Illinois and Jim Brown and wife, Maria, of Bloomington, Indiana; two sisters, Ruth Reynolds and husband, Troy, of Port Neches, Texas and Lulu Belle Wilson of Vincennes, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Ryan Lewis, Danna Lippold, Dyan Lewis, Veronica Eagleson, Thad Brown, Matthew Brown, Andrew Brown, and Ethan Brown; and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Allison Prairie Church of the Brethren. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Burial will be in the Centerville Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Centerville Cemetery Fund.
