Margie (Long) Robertson, age 92 of Lawrenceville and formerly of Bridgeport, passed away October 2, 2018 at the United Methodist Village-North Campus. She was born March 19, 1926 in Paducah, KY to Gus and Dulcie (Rule) Long.
In 1944, Margie married Woodrow A. “Woody” Robertson. He preceded her in death in June of 2003.
Margie had been a Sign of the Kingdom-West volunteer, a charter member of the former Bridgeport Lioness Club, and a volunteer at the Methodist Village-North. She was also a long-time member of the Lawrenceville Church of Christ.
Surviving family includes: three daughters- Beryl Stafford of Florida, Janice Sacks of Springfield, MO, and Kerrie Schuitema of Vincennes, IN: ten grandchildren: ten great-grandchildren: and two great-great-grandchildren: and one half-sister.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, her husband, one brother, a step-mother, and a sister-in-law.
As per Margie’s wishes, her body will be cremated and buried next to her husband, Woody, in Bridgeport City Cemetery. No formal services are planned at this time.
