Four Sentenced in Lawrence County Circuit Court

   Lawrence County State’s Attorney Michael Strange announced that four people were sentenced in Lawrence County Circuit Court this week. 36 year-old Michael Burdette Bryan of Bridgeport was sentenced to nine years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on charges of unlawful possession of methamphetamine and escape. That will be followed by three years of mandatory supervised release. Bryan is also required to pay a $500 mandatory drug assessment as well as court costs.

   23 year-old Kaleb A. Goodwin of St. Francisville was sentenced to six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a charge of arson. That will be followed by two years of mandatory supervised release. Goodwin is also required to pay court costs.

   52 year-old Roger W. Gregory of Lawrenceville was re-sentenced to three years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a charge of unlawful possession of methamphetamine.  Gregory had previously been placed on two years of felony probation; but admitted to violating the terms of his probation by providing drug screens that tested positive for meth. Gregory’s prison sentence will be followed by one year of mandatory supervised release.  Gregory is also required to pay fines as well as court costs.

   29 year-old Philip J. Hughes of Dugger, Indiana was re-sentenced to three years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a charge of unlawful possession of methamphetamine.  Hughes had previously been placed on two years of felony probation; but admitted to violating the terms of his probation by failing to appear for probation appointments and court appearances. Hughes’ prison sentence will be followed by one year of mandatory supervised release.  Hughes is also required to pay fines as well as court costs.
