In addition to the colder weather that has arrived in the area, so has the flu. An increased number of flu cases have been seen at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital, and the hospital is encouraging everyone to take necessary precautions. Lawrence County Memorial Hospital is temporarily restricting visitation to protect patients, employees and other visitors from the spread of influenza. Visitors under the age of 18 are asked not to visit but if they must, a mask will be available for them to wear. Outpatients that are arriving for services that are experiencing influenza-like symptoms will be asked to wear a mask and use hand sanitizer. Visitors are being limited to two at a time.
