Robert “Tip” Tipton, 82, of Vincennes passed away Friday, November 18, 2016 at 12:05am at Good Samaritan Hospital.
He was born October 20, 1934 in Vincennes to Edwin Reid and Mary Elizabeth (Sparrow) Tipton.
He was a member of the American Legion, Moose Lodge, The Eagles, Lawrenceville VFW and the Cooties. He retired from the Vincennes City Water Department and at the age of 17 he joined the Navy and served in the Korean War.
Surviving is his mother, Mary Tipton of Hudsonville, Michigan; his son, Scott Tipton of Vincennes; brother, James Tipton and his wife Delores of Grand Rapids, Michigan; his nephew, James Tipton; his grandchildren, Kyle and Dakota Tipton.
He was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn (Alvis) Tipton and his father.
Funeral services will be held at Goodwin Funeral Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 1:00pm with visitation from 11:00am until the time of the service. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences can be sent to the family through www.goodwinfamilyfh.com.
