Nancy Lou Putnam

Nancy Lou Putnam, age 87, of Jackson, Tennessee, formerly of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Christian Care Center in Medina, Tennessee. She was born on July 13, 1936 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the daughter of James Henry and Hilda Rose (Wolfe) Fielden. She married Clyde Putnam, Jr. on August 24, 1956, and he preceded her in death on May 26, 2022.

Nancy was a registered nurse, and was the director of nursing at the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital and the United Methodist Village. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville, where she enjoyed singing in the choir, attending Thursday morning Bible study, prayer group, and work trips with the church. She was an avid reader.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; one son, Kirk Wilson Putnam; one brother, Donald Fielden; and one sister, Margo Pinkstaff.

Survivors include her three children, Jennifer Lee Irvine and husband, Scott of Indianapolis, Indiana, Julia Ann Wagner and husband, David of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Kyle Wade Putnam of Jackson, Tennessee; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 11:00 AM CDT at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 PM CDT until 6:00 PM CDT at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
