Terrance ‘Terry’ L. Kiefer

Terrance ‘Terry’ L. Kiefer, age 66, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024 at Willow Manor in Vincennes, Indiana. He was born on May 20, 1957 in Huntingburg, Indiana, the son of Roman G. and Cicilia (Meyer) Kiefer. He married Stella (Plevriti) Conover on December 12, 2012, and she survives.

Terry grew up in Saint Meinrad, Indiana, and graduated from Heritage Hills High School in Heritage, Indiana. He was an underground coal miner for 31 years and an aboveground coal miner for three years, retiring as a belt checker and fueler from Peabody Energy in 2016. He also worked as a plumber and in a wood factory. He was a member of the Central Christian Church in Washington, Indiana, and attended Central Christian Church in Lawrenceville. His hobbies included welding, crafting, making horse shoe art, golfing, and attending YMCA Rock Stead Boxing during his fight against Parkinson’s Disease.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Randy Keifer.

Survivors include his wife, Stella; two sons, Jason Kiefer of Seattle, Washington and Kyle Kiefer and wife, Aeriann of Princeton, Indiana; and three grandchildren, Gavin, Jaydn, and Liam.

A celebration of life will be conducted on Saturday, April 06, 2024 from 12:00 PM until

1:00 PM CDT at the Central Christian Church, located at 303 Buchanan Drive in Lawrenceville, Illinois. The family extends an invitation to the meal following the service at 1:00 PM CDT in the church gymnasium. Memorial donations may be made to YMCA Rock Stead Boxing. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
