James R. “Dick” Fox, Jr.

James R. “Dick” Fox, Jr., age 74 of Bridgeport, passed away unexpectedly January 16, 2024, at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. He was born August 19, 1949, in Lawrenceville to Jim Fox and Wanda (Montgomery) Cessna.

As a young man Dick worked for Dumes, Inc. and for his father at Fox Iron and Metal. Later in life he became the owner of Fox Iron and Metal. Dick also worked for Walmart in Vincennes, IN as the lawn and garden department manager until he retired after 16 years.

Dick met Rhonda Burcham in 1991, and they shared 30 years of marriage.

He was a true jokester and loved giving people a little static. He genuinely had a kind way about him. You could always catch him watching Western movies and making his daily visit to “the office for notes”.

Surviving relatives include: wife- Rhonda Burcham Fox: step-mother- Verlin Ash Fox: five daughters- Alisha Hinton and husband Jake of Sumner; Lori Wickiser of Sumner; Heather Muzzy and husband Michael of Oneida, TN; Jessica Clodfelder and husband Andy of Verne, IN; and Deanna Pearman and husband Bob of Clinton, IN: one son- Anthony Burcham: two sisters- Sheila Blair of Lawrenceville and Dolly Fox of Bridgeport: one brother- Bob Fox of Vincennes, IN: several step-siblings and their families: twelve grandchildren- Chyanne Plumb, Colen Wickiser, AJ Fiscus, Landon Kasinger, Andrew Burcham, Amelia Burcham, Syiah Hinton, David Hinton, Joey Monk, Megan McCoy, Katie Audette, and Jarron Mieure: and five great-grandchildren with one more on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim Fox and Wanda Cessna, and one brother, John Mark Fox.

Dick was always helping others and continued this by becoming an organ donor.

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Fountain Fellowship Worship Center in Bridgeport. Private family services will take place. Cremation will follow. Cunningham Funeral Home of Bridgeport is assisting his family during their time of loss.
