Barbara Pealer Wilson

Barbara Pealer Wilson, age 90, passed away Monday, December 4, in Vincennes Indiana. 

Barbara was born June 2, 1933 in Benton, PA to Zerbin Pealer and Leveria Honse Pealer. Her love for her home state and her family of origin remained throughout her life. In early adulthood, she married Eugene Dobbs. He remained her husband, until his death after 15 years of marriage. She was married to Jack Abel Wilson on April 12, 1979, and remained married to him until his death in October of 2013. 

 

Barbara was an avid animal lover. She spent much of her life caring for her beloved parrot, Judy, as well as multiple dogs, cats, and birds. Barbara was quick-witted, outspoken, and kind-hearted.

 

She was a mentor to many, helping others to find their direction in life. Barbara was well-loved by her friends, family and neighbors and anyone who met her. 

 

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Jack Abel Wilson and Eugene Francis Dobbs, Sr.; son, Geoffrey Wilson; granddaughter, Molly Marie Bryniarski; and grandson, Joshua Murphy Dobbs.

 

Surviving Barbara are her children: Eugene Dobbs (Jeanne) Hebron, MD; Janne Dobbs Collins (Eric) Harrington, DE; James Dobbs (Joy Shay) of Lawrenceville, GA; Jill Dobbs Bryniarski (Joseph) of Bloomington, IN; Danny Dobbs (Donna Rosemund) Lawrenceville, GA; Pat Dobbs Lawrenceville, GA; Chetta Owens (Roy) Springtown, TX; and Lazondra Wilson San Diego, CA; a brother Bob Pealer (Ruby) Gainesville, FL. She also leaves behind 22 grandchildren,18 great-grandchildren, and two nieces, all of whom were near and dear to her heart.

A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, January 20, 2023 at 3:00 PM CST at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. In lieu of flowers/plants/trees, the family asks that you make a donation to the Lawrence County Humane Society, P.O. Box 415, Lawrenceville, Illinois 62439 in Barbara’s name.
