Hunters in Lawrence County and across Illinois are gearing up for the first firearm deer season. It begins one half hour before sunrise Friday November 17th and ends one half hour after sunset Sunday. The local forecast calls for a rainy start to the season but the weather should improve over the weekend with cooler conditions. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) reminds hunters to use caution and hunt safely. The second firearm deer season in Illinois occurs Thursday November 30th and lasts through Sunday December 3rd.
