LUKING PLEA

guilty-plea

Former Vincennes police chief Dusty Luking was in Knox County Indiana Superior Court Wednesday. He plead guilty to a Felony count of Official Misconduct as part of a negotiated plea agreement and had two counts of Forgery and Theft dropped at a change of plea hearing. Luking was charged after a FBI investigation in 2019 while he was still chief. He was accused of taking over $35,000 of police evidence locker money for his own personal use. He later stepped down as chief. As part of the agreement, Luking was sentenced to 30 months suspended to probation and also must make an as yet undetermined amount of restitution in the case.
