The Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation has announced they have been able to identify the vehicle and driver believed to be involved in the Friday September 29th night crash on US 40 just outside of Teutopolis which resulted in five fatalities and numerous injuries. ISP Director Brendan Kelly said that information received from the communities of Montrose and Teutopolis along with other sources was instrumental in the identification effort. The make of the vehicle and the name of the driver are not being released. The ISP are continuing to investigate and are consulting with the Effingham County States Attorneys Office.
