Vincennes Lincoln High School was on remote learning Wednesday. That after fire broke out Tuesday evening at the school located at 1545 South Hart Street Road. Vincennes firefighters were dispatched after reports of smoke spotted coming from the building. The fire began in the kitchen area and was contained by the school sprinkler system. The kitchen and an adjoining weight room suffered smoke and water damage-no firm damage estimate was given. The fire was thought to have started in an industrial dishwasher and spread from there. There were no reported injuries. Lincoln High School administrative officials went to remote learning to allow for the cleanup of the affected areas Wednesday and anticipate in-person instruction to resume Thursday.
