1 DIES FROM KNOX COUNTY CRASH

The Indiana State Police now report that one person has died of injuries sustained in that police pursuit with a stolen pickup truck which ended with a crash Friday afternoon in northern Knox County. The stolen truck was being driven by a missing and wanted 16 year old juvenile from Terre Haute and contained two other wanted and missing juveniles ages 15 and 16. The chase began in Sullivan County and led south on US 41 into Knox County before the truck collided with a stopped 2006 Chevrolet while turning at the Old US 41 intersection near Oaktown. The driver of the Chevrolet identified as 88 year old Jimmy Mayall of Oaktown was lifeflighted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis and died there later. Two of the three juveniles were hurt and taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes for treatment and then were transported to the Southwest Indiana Regional Youth Village while the other was airlifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville where his condition is unknown. The investigation is on-going and criminal charges are pending in the case.
