Dennis Allen Barker, age 57 of Bridgeport, passed away unexpectedly at his home Tuesday, July 18, 2023. He was born July 3, 1966, in Lawrenceville to William L. and Beatrice S. (McBride) Barker.
Dennis idolized John Wayne, collected pocket knives, and enjoyed fishing and mushroom hunting. He was a member of the Bridgeport Moose and the NWTF.
He had his CDL for many years and was a heavy machine operator as well. Dennis had worked for Farm Services (FS), Moore Brothers, and was currently with Republic.
Surviving family includes: three siblings- Tonya Shaffer and husband Dan of Lawrenceville, David Barker and wife Ricki of Robinson, and Crystal Fronk and husband Daniel of Concord, NH: his companion- Pam Petrusek of Bridgeport: children he thought of as his own- Tiffany Cooper and husband Johnny of Noblesville, IN and Robert Stephens of Heber Springs, AR: seven grandchildren: eight nieces and nephews: lots of great-nieces and great-nephews: and his aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A time of visitation will be held Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will take place in Bridgeport City Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 24, 2023.
