The MidAmerican Air Center has now reopened to air traffic. Airport manager Kurt Schwartz updated the Bi State Authority which governs the airport Tuesday night on the situation. Schwartz told WAKO News that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had recommended the closing of the two runways  starting June 15th to avoid an problems with the ongoing 18/36 reconstruction project. That runway is tenatively scheduled to reopen on August 9th. One runway 927 is back in use starting Tuesday July 11th. The Authority is also looking at repair work on the North Terminal steps in preparation for the solar eclipse next year. A proposed fiscal year 2024 budget for the airport was also discussed and approved.
