Evelyn Lankford, 94, went to be with her Lord, Sunday, July 9, 2023 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton, Indiana. She was born in East Chicago, Indiana on March 24, 1929 to the late Roland Bailey and Mora (Voight) Miller and graduated high school in Mount Carmel, Illinois. Evelyn loved family gatherings, local sports, and St. Louis Cardinals baseball. She was a faithful member of Hillside United Methodist Church and served as a Sunday School teacher for 55 years.
She is survived by her 7 children, Stephen Lankford (Carolyn), Janice Loveless (Dale), Scott Lankford (Brenda), Joyce Reed (Harold), Douglas Lankford (Melissa), Judy Daly (Tom), and Jeanne Perry (Tim); 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray J. Lankford, co-owner of WRAY, in 1997.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Andrew Johnson of New Life Church of the Nazarene officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Mount Carmel, Illinois. Visiting hours will be held from 11 until 1:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
