Banks and authorities here in Lawrence County are warning businesses and the public about counterfeit money being circulated locally. There have been reports of bogus $100 bills being passed to three separate business locations in Lawrence County. These bills were copies of the old style $100 bills without the extra watermark. People and business owners and employees should thoroughly inspect any suspicious looking large bills and report any counterfeit money to local law enforcement authorities.
