The Lawrence County Unit 20 Board of Education met Wednesday evening at Lawrenceville High School and did approve fees for the coming 2023-24 school term with some raises included. The fee structures are available for parents in the student handbooks for Parkside, Parkview and Lawrenceville High Schools which were also approved during the session. The board did after a required public hearing move to accept the 2022-23 amended budget. They received a presentation from the firm AGE on the use of solar energy in the district in the future. The district is still reviewing the matter. Unit 20 Superintendent Doug Daugherty also reported on the progress of the LHS Track refurbishing project at Ed Loeb Field. Phase 1 of the work has been completed and Phase 2 is underway. The track still remains closed to the public.
