There will be some polling place changes in future elections here in Lawrence County. That after the county board Wednesday approved the consolidation of several political precincts in Lawrence Township-Lawrence 13 and 14, 17 and 19 and 18-23. County Clerk Will Gibson says that it will not adversely affect voters and will lessen the need for election judges. The board also approved a resolution for the reappointment of Aaron Mefford to a 6 year term as county highway engineer along with salary terms. Approved was the low bid of just over $832,900 for work by Mt Carmel Stabilization Group on a project on the Pinkstaff Road east to Allendale Gravel and the close to $1.4 million dollar bid of Ambraw Asphalt for a project on the Sumner Blacktop from Sand Barrons Lane south to the Wabash County line to start in August. The board also moved to accept the resignation of Keith Kocher as a Lawrence-Allison Fire Protection District (LAFPD) trustee.
