A local man apparently died as the result of a single vehicle traffic accident in rural Wabash County Monday afternoon. The Wabash County Sheriffs Department (WCSD) reports that they responded around 2 p.m. to the report of the accident on North 1550 Boulevard. For an unknown reason, a 1999 Dodge truck pulling a trailer and being driven by 57 year old Troy Hinderliter of Mt Carmel was traveling on the gravel roadway. Hinderliter lost control and the vehicle and trailer struck a ditch and then overturned. Emergency rescue personnel arrived on the scene and discovered Hinderlite dead. The WCSD and the Wabash County Coroners office are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
