A new business venture in Lawrenceville had it’s groundbreaking Wednesday. Local dignitaries including Lawrenceville Mayor David Courtney,Lawrence County Industrial Development Council Executive Director Don Wagner and Chamber Executive Director Paige Harvey were on hand for the ceremonies at 2504 West Haven Road–the future location of a new Ginger Ale’s franchise. Ginger Ale’s will be a drive-through variety drink shop with no dine-in that will also serve some snack items. The Brad Abel family from Bridgeport will be the owners/operators of the business. Construction has begun on a new 24 foot by 60 foot building just west of the Ambraw Federal Credit Union and it is hoped that there will be a September opening. Ginger Ale’s already has several locations across southeastern Illinois and is expanding to locations in southwestern Indiana.
