WAKO News has been informed that the burn ban for Lawrence County has now been lifted, effective Monday June 12th. The burn ban was imposed last Tuesday by the Lawrence County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) and the fire chiefs of the Lawrence-Allison, Bridgeport, Denison and Christy Fire Protection Districts due to extremely dry conditions and a lack of rain. Again, the Lawrence County burning ban has been lifted effective immediately.
