SALUKIS BLANKED IN HOME FINALE

The Red Hill Baseball Salukis closed up their regular season Saturday afternoon at the Tank Farm at Bridgeport. They were shutout by the Midland Trail Conference champion Centralia (Christ Our Rock Lutheran) Stallions 5-0. The visitors scored 5 runs on 5 hits and made 1 error while the host Salukis were blanked on 5 hits and made 4 costly errors. Bryce Gross had three of the Saluki hits on the day while Garrett Moorehead went 4 2/3 innings and gave up 5 runs on 4 hits with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts to take the pitching loss. Peyton Seaney finished up with 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief. With the loss, the Salukis finish a solid season at 15-6 and had a two game winning streak ended while the Stallions improve to 20-4 on the season. Next up for the Salukis is the semi-finals of the Class 1A Farina (South Central) Regional tournament. The #6 seeded Salukis will face #3 seeded and host South Central Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Lions Field in Kinmundy.
