The Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) hosted the 2023 Class 1A/2A State Track and Field Finals Friday and Saturday at the Eastside Center in East Peoria. The Red Hill Junior High School Saluki boys and girls had several competitors who qualified for events at state and competed this past weekend. Mckenna Hill finished 7th in the Class 2A 7th grade Girls Long Jump, Persy Klein finished 8th in the Class 2A 7th grade Girls 1600 meter run, Delaney Smith finished 14th in the Class 2A 8th grade Girls High Jump, Colby Crutchfield was a 6th place finisher in the Class 2A 7th grade Boys High Jump and Bradon Ritchie finished 18th in the Class 2A 8th grade Boys 1600 meter run. In the relay events, the team of Clayton Roney, Crutchfield, Logan Rodrick and Zadyn Loudermilk finished 16th in the Class 2A Boys 4 x 100 meters and the team of Roney, Levi McCullough, Ritchie and Loudermilk were 8th place finishers in the Class 2A Boys 4 x 400 meters. Congratulations to all those Junior High Salukis athletes on their state performances and their outstanding seasons.
