PIRATES EDGE BASEBALL INDIANS

The Cumberland Pirates pushed across a run on a double in the top of the fourth inning to break a 1-1 tie and made it stand up in a 2-1 win over the Lawrenceville Baseball Indians Tuesday at Unit 20 Ballpark in Lawrenceville. The Indians scored on a wild pitch in the first to take a 1-0 lead but the visitors tied the game on a RBI groundout in the top of the second before taking the lead.  Cumberland scored 2 runs on only 3 hits and made 1 error. The Indians were held to 1 run on three hits by Landon Sanders, Leyton Ivers and Maddox Pargin and committed 1 error. Jack Patterson pitched well but took the loss for the Indians at 0-1. He went all 7 innings and allowed only 2 runs on 3 hits, struck out 5 and walked 4. The Indians fall to 3-3 with the loss and are right back in action at Unit 20 Ballpark Wednesday hosting Carmi-White County at 4:30 p.m.
