INDIANS STRONG IN WIN OVER OLNEY

The Lawrenceville Basketball Indians got off to a fast start and avenged two earlier defeats in the season Friday night with a solid 57-46 win over the Olney (Richland County) Tigers at Lawrenceville High School. The Tribe jumped on top after one quarter 18-8 and extended the lead to 30-18 at the half. They maintained the lead 45-31 after the third quarter enroute to their third win in a row to improve to 21-5. The Tribe were led by the duo of Bryant Jenkins and Maddux Pargin each with 20 points. The Tigers were paced by guard Ian Winkler with 20 points and Casey Thomann added 12 points as they drop to 17-6 on the year. The Tigers did win the JV game 53-44 over the Indians with Zander Cessna scoring 11. The Indians are back in action Saturday afternoon at 5 p.m. as they travel to the Benton Illinois Shootout to meet the host Rangers at Rich Herrin Gym.
