INDIANS WIN COUNTY BATTLE

The Lawrenceville Basketball Indians got off to a fast start running out to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter and went on to defeat the Red Hill Salukis 67-24 Friday night in a Lawrence County battle in Bridgeport. The Tribe led 20-3 after one quarter, 41-10 at the half and 59-17 after three quarters enroute to their second straight win. Landon Sanders led the 4-1 Indians with 21 points and Maddux Pargin added 12 while Hayden Arbuckle scored 12 for the Salukis, who remain winless at 0-6. The Salukis won a thrilling JV contest 47-46 on a driving basket by Peyton Seaney at the buzzer in overtime. Avery Arbuckle had 24 for the JV Salukis while Jayden Goff scored 17 and Emery Ivers 15 for the JV Indians who fall to 0-2. The Indians play again Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Marion Illinois Shootout against Ballard Memorial Kentucky. Broadcast time on Lite 103 WAKO around 2 p.m. CT with Steve Anderson and Bill Richardson.
