The Mt Carmel Football Golden Aces amassed over 500 yards in total offense, 279 of those on the ground Friday night as they crushed the Lawrenceville Football Indians 60-6 in Little Illini Conference (LIC) play. The game was the first played on the newly renovated turf field at Riverview Stadium at Mt Carmel in conjunction with Homecoming. The hosts scored on the first play from scrimmage and led 34-0 after 1 quarter and 53-0 at the half enroute to improving to 4-0. The 1-3 Indians were held to just over 200 yards in total offense with only 51 rushing yards. Bryant Jenkins scored the only Indian touchdown on a 64 yard pass reception in the third quarter. The Tribe will try to rebound again on the road next week as they travel to Casey to meet the Warriors Friday night. Elsewhere in the LIC……
