Cleanup is continuing in many communities across the southeastern Illinois and southwestern Indiana regions after the extensive rain from heavy showers and thunderstorms over the past several days. Rain totals ranged from 3 inches up to 11 inches in some areas. Local and area emergency officials are warning that some flood waters are falling, but many rural, country locations have roads still underwater and some roads are closed because of washing out and other damages from high water. People traveling should use caution if using these roads and do not try and cross any that are flooded. Use alternate routes to get to your destination.
