FLOOD WARNING

The National Weather Service (NWS) has continued a Flood Warning for the entire WAKO listening area until late Tuesday afternoon. They say that the extension is due to reports of the flooding of rivers, creeks and streams and other low-lying and flood prone locations. The rising waters caused by between 1.5 and 4 inches of heavy rain earlier Tuesday. There have also been reports of slow moving and standing water in various area across southeastern Illinois and southwestern Indiana. The NWS reminds people that flooding can be dangerous. Most flooding deaths occur in vehicles. Turn around and don’t drown when encountering flooded roads and inform local emergency and law enforcement.
