Sandra ‘Sandy’ Sue James

Sandra ‘Sandy’ Sue James, age 78, of Vincennes, Indiana, formerly of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at her daughter’s residence. She was born on November 13, 1943 in Birds, Illinois, the daughter of Warren Grant and Thelma June (Rigg) Cummins. She married Edward Eugene Leach in 1960, and they had three children together. She then married Glenn James on June 01, 1973, and he preceded her in death on September 22, 2013.

Sandy retired from banking. She worked at the First National Bank, Peoples Savings Bank, and First Financial Community Bank. She was a member of the Bridgeport Assembly of God Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; second husband, Glenn James; and significant other, Dexter Reeves.

Survivors include her three daughters, Jacque Sue Pentell and significant other, Cameron Atkins of Sullivan, Indiana, Rhonda Wolfe and husband, Jeff of Evansville, Indiana, and Regina Flynn and husband, Jim of Raleigh, North Carolina; one sister, Ellen Elaine Johnson and husband, Lester of Wofford Heights, California; six grandchildren, Andrea Pentell, Tony Wolfe, Nick Pentell, Christina Perry, Jaimi Flynn, and Jesse Flynn; ten great-grandchildren, Carter Wolfe, Colin Wolfe, Madelynn Walters, Elizabeth Wolfe, J. Michael Perry, Khole Wolfe, Jaylee Perry, Aria Pentell, Lincoln Pentell, and Harrison Pentell; one nephew, Duane Osmon and wife, Cynthia of California; and first husband, Edward Leach of Crystal River, Florida.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, July 25, 2022 at 1:00 PM CDT at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be on Monday from 11:00 AM until the service hour of 1:00 PM CDT at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Southern Heartland Hospice Care of Terre Haute, Indiana, Lawrence County Cancer Resource Center & Wig Shoppe, or Bridgeport Assembly of God Church.
