Mt Carmel and Salem were first round winners Thursday at the Little League 10u District 1 Tournament being held at the Lawrenceville City Park Diamond. Mt Carmel beat host Lawrence County 18-3 in 3 innings in game 1 and Salem knocked off Olney 5-3 in game 2. That sets up scheduled action Friday (weather and field conditions permitting). Game 1 at 5 p.m. has 0-1 Lawrence County versus 0-1 Olney in an elimination game and game 2 features 1-0 Mt Carmel against 1-0 Salem in the winners bracket at 7 p.m.
