Mike McNerney, a cultural archeologist from Carbondale, Illinois will be the scheduled speaker at the next meeting of the Lawrence County Historical Society. It is set for Monday June 27th at 7 p.m. at the History Center in downtown Lawrenceville. He recently investigated early gravemarkers in several local cemeteries and will speak on his findings and what they tell us about the early settlers in the Lawrence County and surrounding area. He is also the founder of the American Resources Group, a cultural management firm started in 1979 and formerly worked as a staff archeologist at the Southern Illinois University Museum along with be an author. The Monday meeting is free and open to the public.
