The city water system was the main topic of discussion for the St Francisville City Council at their regular monthly session Wednesday. Mayor Danny Lynn reported on the shutdown at the city water plant earlier in the week believed caused by a power surge which affected the computer controls of the city well field. The problem is being addressed according to Mayor Lynn. There was also lengthy discussion on perhaps making application for an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) loan through the Greater Wabash Regional Planning Commission (GWRPC) to add to and upgrade the plant and it’s filtration unit . The move would add needed capacity for potential expansion of water service for the future. No firm decision will be made until more cost information is presented to the council. The council did approve a 10 m.p.h. speed limit for the bridge and a 30 m.p.h. speed limit on the road leading to the bridge. Signs will be posted with the new limits in the near future.
