The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced that lane restrictions will occur starting next week for the Red Skelton Bridges on U.S. 50 over the Wabash River from Knox County into Lawrence County. This will allow for deck overlay and joint replacement work on the structures to get underway. Starting Monday June 6th, there will be restrictions over both bridges to begin strengthening the shoulders and crossovers. Once that work in done, traffic will be diverted to one bridge at a time for the start of the overlay and joint replacement work. When that bridge is done, traffic will be moved onto it and work will begin on the second bridge. Work on both bridges is anticipated to be completed by the end of October weather permitting. Those traveling should be alert and aware of the work zone speed limit of 55 m.p.h.
