Lawrence County States Attorney Michael Strange announced that 2 local men were given prison terms this week in Lawrence County Circuit Court. 64 year old Larry Sanders of Lawrenceville was sentenced to 2 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) for Escape, a Class 3 Illinois Felony. That sentence will run consecutive to another previous sentence imposed in Lawrence County. 31 year old Derek Brown also of Lawrenceville was handed 2 1/2 years in the IDOC after pleading guilty to Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, a Class 3 Illinois Felony. Brown will also have to pay court assessments.
