One person was hurt in a collision with a garbage truck late last week in Lawrenceville. City police report that around 11 a.m. Friday, a 2013 Chevrolet being driven by Aubrey Jones of rural Lawrenceville attempted to pass a 2020 Mack Trash Truck owned by Republic Services and being driven by Jordan Stevens of rural Bridgeport. The garbage truck was stopped to pick up a trash recepticle on the West Haven Road near James Street and was struck in the rear by the Jones vehicle. Jones was injured but refused EMS treatment at the scene. Stevens was uninjured. However the Jones vehicle did suffer enough damage that it had to be towed from the scene. Authorities investigating indicated there were no citations involved.
