Former Lawrenceville Indian All-State and Illinois Mister Basketball Jay Shidler has written a book about his life in basketball and beyond. It is entitled “The Blonde Bomber: A Ride with the Shide.” The book chronicles his life in Lawrenceville, playing for the legendary Ron Felling at Lawrenceville High School, his college recruitment and his time playing for the University of Kentucky Wildcats where he was a popular member of the 1978 NCAA championship team and life after basketball. Shidler will appear at a book sale and signing event this weekend in Lawrenceville. He will be at the Lawrenceville American Legion Post #214 Saturday April 16th from 1 until 4 p.m. with copies of the book for sale.
