State and local law enforcement officers across Illinois have beefed up their patrols as the popular St Patricks Day draws closer. It is Thursday March 17th and the increased law enforcement prescence will be looking for drunk and drug-impaired driving, speeding, distracted driving and non-use of seat belts. People celebrating the holiday in conjunction with the start of the NCAA basketball tournaments are urged to plan ahead for a safe way home. The enforcement will run through the early morning hours of Friday March 18th.
