The Illinois Department of Public Health Thursday reported 1,979 cases of coronavirus across the state with 93 new deaths. There were only 5 positive cases reported Thursday in Lawrence County and only 11 in Knox County Indiana. Overall since the pandemic began, there have now been a total of 3,024,663 cases of the disease and 32,580 deaths. A total of 21,057,410 vaccinations have now been administered at sites across Illinois since the vaccine rollout began with over 4.1 million booster shots given. The IDPH says that now close to 38% of the total Lawrence County population is fully vaccinated, 42% have received at least 1 dose of vaccine and there have been 2,379 booster doses given.
