The Lincoln Trail College Lady Softball Statewomen have began their season with a 2-2 record. They participated in the Northeast Mississippi Tigerfest tournament in Booneville Ms Sunday and Monday. On Sunday, LTC lost 8-0 to Dyersburg State and 6-5 to East Central Mississippi. They rebounded on Monday with an 18-10 win over Southwest Tennessee in their first game of the day. Former Lawrenceville product Jayley Akers had a big game for LTC with 3 hits including a 2 run homer, 2 runs scored and 4 RBI. Game two found LTC defeating Northeast Mississippi 7-3 with Akers getting 2 more hits including a 2 run homer. She also score twice and had 2 RBI. The Lady Stateswomen next see action Saturday as they play St Johns River College in Cocoa Beach Florida.
