The Vincennes City Council invited the Knox County Council to it’s regularly scheduled meeting Monday night at City Hall for a discussion of the LIT proposal. The LIT (Local Income Tax) is being considered to fund ambulance service for the county. A tax of .5% is being looked at as the amount that would be charged taxpayers to raise the money. The city leaders wanted to hear more information from county leaders before making a decision regarding their support of the proposal. It was indicated that the Knox County Council will call a public hearing sometime in February on the tax and could possibly vote on it in March.
