Illinois State Police say a Lawrence County woman was killed in an early morning single vehicle accident Saturday in neighboring Richland County. Preliminary investigation reveals that at around 2 a.m. CT, a 2013 Buick being driven by 31 year old Wendy Dunfee of Sumner was heading west on Elbow Road west of the Higgins Switch Road when it veered off the left side of the road and hit a tree headon. Dunfee was pronounced dead at the scene. No other information is available as the investigation into the accident continues.
