The Vincennes Police Department has announced that it’s new K-9 officer officially began his duties this week. K-9 officer Boca made patrol rounds Tuesday with his handler K-9 Sergeant Caswell. Boca is a 15 month old sable German Shepard weighing 80 lbs who went through around 4 weeks of training before being received by the department last week. The dog is a dual purpose K-9 officers trained in aggression, handler protection, tracking and narcotics detection. Boca replaces former K-9 officer Gary who passed away in October.
